Unaccompanied Minor Service is temporarily suspended from 4 April 2013.

MIAT Mongolian Airlines provides the Unaccompanied Minor (UM) service for minors who travel alone without a guardian age between 5 to 12 years old and also this service is available for age between 12 to 16 years old by their parent or guardian request.

Notes :

Children under 5 years old cannot travel alone under any circumstances.

UM service will be provided when flying on MIAT Mongolian Airlines operating flight only and not available for transit/onward flights.

Service application method

  • Contact the MIAT Mongolian Airlines reservation/Call center at least 24 hours prior to departure time and receive confirmation of your application.

  • Prepare copies of UM passport, birth certificate to be notarized.

  • Notary document which proofing that requesting person is the parent/guardian of UM.

  • Please fill out the UM form 4 copies in English.

Ticketing

There should be SSR code UMNR confirmed on passenger reservation. Word UM followed by age should be written after passenger’s name on ticket.

Service fee

Please note that the price of the service for UM child aged from 5 to 16 years on one route segment is 67000 MNT (Mongolian Tugrik).

Service procedure at the airport

Departure airport

Please come to the airport early 2 hour and 30 minutes prior to the departure time and proceed to the check-in counter. After completion of documents and payment the UM will be led to the staff in-charge.

Destination airport

Staff will assist UM upon arrival, until UM meets the designated guardian. Staff will check the guardian’s photo ID and release the UM.

Notes :

Upon departure and arrival, children have to be accompanied by an adult. If the designated adult fails to show up upon arrival the children will be returned to the original departure city. The sending guardian is responsible for the extra travel costs. Please inform designated guardian to arrive at the airport prior to the arrival time of the plane that the child is on board.
